Masai Mara Safari

As an architectural photographer obsessed with straight lines and clean frames, taking a safari in the Masai Mara was a humbling lesson in chaos. Forget waiting for shadows to shift on a concrete wallβ€”try composing a minimalist shot from a vibrating Land Cruiser while a giraffe wanders out of frame.

Shooting wildlife photography in Kenya was a fun challenge in finding structural rhythm, natural geometry, and thoughtful compositions in the untamed wild. Here is my honest attempt at wrangling the unpredictable nature of the savannah into something of a thoughtful frameβ€”bugs, bumps, and uncooperative wildlife included.
