25 Best Photos of Notting Hill Carnival 2026

Attending Notting Hill Carnival for the very first time was an unforgettable blur of heavy bass, vibrant colour, and pure energy. Stepping onto the streets of West London was already exciting, but knowing 2026 marked the monumental 60th Diamond Jubilee made the whole weekend feel especially historic.

As a street photographer, it is easy to get swept up in the massive scale of the main parade floats and towering feathered costumes.

For my first Carnival, I wanted to take a slightly different approach with my camera.

My goal was to look past the main spectacle and focus on the human side of the day. I spent the day hunting for candid stories: quiet moments in the crowd, neighbours watching from their windows, and performers catching their breath from the public eye.
